Barnstable High business students are the pipeline of our future

Visiting Barnstable High University on Thursday to fulfill learners of the school’s fledgling Company, Entrepreneurship & Finance Innovation Pathway, Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito declared the foreseeable future of the commonwealth is vivid.

“We’re in this article to spotlight and shine a large light on what you are carrying out in this college,” Polito reported. “The day of not realizing what your future is going to be is in the rearview mirror. You are the pipeline of our potential progress.”

Polito listened to auditorium displays from students finding out in the Organization Management and Leadership courses, headed by Monice Maurice and Brent Jansen. She also toured the $1.2 million Environmental Science Laboratory that a $350,000 Massachusetts Expertise Capital Grant served make attainable.

Considering that Barnstable became a pathway university two decades two, the school’s DECA Club, quick for Distributive Education Clubs of America, grew from 10 learners to 180 pre-pandemic, explained Liz Freedman, Barnstable Significant School principal. Now, the group is rebuilding, providing students the likelihood to get occupation and neighborhood leadership capabilities by connecting with the nearby workforce.

New to the large school this university calendar year, Freedman most a short while ago served 12 decades as principal of the Better Lawrence Technical University in Andover. Her pride in Barnstable High’s budding business enterprise internship program closely aligns with that of schools Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown.
